Haiti - Religion : Mgr Max Mésidor succeeds Bishop Kébreau in Cap-Haitien
Saturday, President Michel Martelly participated in the Cap Haitien Cathedral, to the canonical taking possession of Mgr Max Leroy Mesidor (53), replacing Mgr Kébreau.

The ceremony was attended by Cardinal Chibly Langlois and top representatives of the Catholic Church coming the ten departments of Haiti and abroad.

Mgr Leroy Mésidor was born January 6, 1962 in St. Marc, in the Diocese of Gonaïves. After his secondary education at College of the Immaculate Conception of the city of Gonaïves, he entered the seminary in Port-au-Prince, where he obtained a Bachelor of Sacred Theology in 1987. From September 1998 to September 2000, he studied pastoral theology and catechesis at the University of Louvain in Belgium, where he obtained the license. He was ordained January 10, 1988 by the Diocese of Gonaïves.

After his ordination he has been parochial vicar at Petite Riviere de l'Artibonite (1988-1989), administrator of the parish (1989-1992) vicar of the cathedral of Gonaïves (1992-1993) and pastor of various parishes.
